Calistoga Fire Department Mission Statement

The mission of the Calistoga Fire Department is to provide those services to the residents and visitors of greater Calistoga which protect their lives, property and environment from fires, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents and disasters.

About Us

The Calistoga Fire Department responds to fires, public safety and medical emergencies, and natural disasters. We protect the lives and property of nearly 7,000 Calistoga residents, who live within the city limits, and we respond automatically to emergencies in both Napa and Sonoma County. During the year we respond to approximately 1200 emergencies in a 96-square mile area. 

The department operates with a combination of 1 fire chief, 9 full-time and up to 10 part-time firefighters. These firefighters all have extensive professional training and experience related to firefighting, rescue and emergency medical techniques. To enhance their knowledge and stay current on new techniques and protocols we provide firefighter training sessions on a weekly basis. Calistoga City Fire Department works on a 24-hour per day shift schedule, 365 days per year to ensure protection and support to our local and surrounding residents.

We spread public safety through fire prevention, fire investigation and education programs within the community. We strive to educate school age children on the importance of fire education and prevention with multiple presentations to schools within our community throughout the year. Please create a family disaster plan, so you and your family know what to do in case of an emergency.
