March 26, 2018                                                                                                                        Public Works Director

Last year the City awarded the road reconstruction contract for Lake Street between Grant Street and Fair Way to Argonaut Constructors. The total construction cost is $355,000. Work was initially delayed due to the Tubbs Fire and then due to winter rains. With a return to favorable weather the project is scheduled to re-start on March 26, 2018 with three construction Phases.

Phase 1 will be March 26 – March 30 and includes locating underground utilities, installation of underground storm drain utilities on Lake Street east of Fair Way, and lowering utility vaults. Phase 2 will be April 2 – April 6 and includes grinding out existing asphalt, repaving the roadway and re-setting the utility vaults. Phase 3 will be April 9 – April 13 and consists of roadway striping, resetting signs and project close-out.

During Phases 1 and 3 the Contractor will have traffic control in effect. During the week of April 2 – April 6 Lake Street from Grant Street to Fair Way will be closed from 7 AM to 7 PM to through traffic. Through traffic will be detoured to N. Oak. Only local traffic and emergency response vehicles will be allowed onto this segment of Lake Street during construction hours.

We thank the community for their patience and ask that they use extra caution when entering the construction zone and obey all traffic signs and flagmen. The City of Calistoga Public Works Department wishes to apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates your support in our effort to complete this necessary infrastructure improvement. If you have any questions please call us at 707-942-2828.
