Fire Department

July 2008

The Calistoga Fire Department responds to fires, public safety and medical emergencies, and natural disasters. We protect the lives and property of nearly 7,000 Calistoga residents, who live within the city limits, and we respond automatically to emergencies in both Napa and Sonoma County. During the year we respond to approximately 850 emergencies in a 96-square mile area.

The department operates with a combination of 3 full-time and 10 paid call firefighters. These firefighters all have extensive professional training and experience in firefighting techniques. To enhance their knowledge, we provide firefighter training sessions on a monthly basis.

We advance public safety through fire prevention, fire investigation and education programs. We encourage you to read the information we’ve provided on Fire Prevention and Disaster Preparedness. Create a family disaster plan, so that your children know what to do in case of an emergency and who to contact if you’re not at home.
