This section provides information to help protect you and your property.

• Burglary- minimize the risk of a break-in by participating in the Neighborhood Watch and Vacation Security Check programs.
• Identity Theft - find out how to minimize the risks for identity theft and how to report it (DOC).
• Megan's Law - The California Department of Justice maintains an internet web site which lists registered sex offenders residing in California. This site allows you to access the database by name, zip code, or city/county listings throughout the state.
  The information on a registered sex offender includes:
  • name and known aliases;
  • age and sex;
  • physical description, including scars, marks and tattoos;
  • photograph, if available;
  • crimes resulting in registration;
  • county of residence;
  • zip code (based on last registration).

• Domestic Violence (DOC) - information to help you get support and plan for your safety.
• If this booklet applies to you, you just need to remember two things: first, abuse is never okay; second, you are not alone. Help is yours for the asking.
• If you know someone whom you think is being abused - a friend, family member, co-worker, client, patient or parishioner - please consider contacting one of the agencies listed below to discuss ways to safely help them.
• Vehicle Theft – According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)'s Uniform Crime Reports, a motor vehicle is stolen in the United States every 26.4 seconds. The odds of a vehicle being stolen were 1 in 207 in 2005. In 2005 the top ten stolen vehicles were:
