Environmental Report for 1339 Lincoln Demolition
The property owner of 1339 Lincoln Avenue (former Lincoln Avenue Spa) proposes to demolish the existing building. The Calistoga Building Official has declared the structure to be an unreinforced masonry building and the Calistoga Municipal Code requires that the building be seismically retrofitted. Two evaluations of the building concluded that the building is at high risk of significant structural damage and possible collapse during seismic events, and that it cannot be feasibly retrofitted due to the poor condition of the building’s original building materials, which are cracked and degraded. The building is eligible for listing in the California Register of Historical Resources.
A Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) was prepared to determine the potential environmental impacts of the demolition project. The DEIR identifies significant impacts in the areas of Aesthetics and Cultural Resources.
The deadline for the submittal of written comments on the DEIR is August 27, 2018 at 4:30 pm. Please see the Notice of Availability for further details.
